I have a fermenting beer that's a bit too cold, and I currently have no way to warm it up as I'm using a heat wrap on a different fermenter. I need to keep this beer between 70-85. Any ideas as it's currently sitting around 66-68 and the krausen is dropping off rapidly and it was just brewed on Saturday. Anyone have any ideas that they use to warm ferment beer in colder temperatures? Cheers!

To get it up quickly I'd get it in a tote and start filling with water. The more volume the longer it will be ok and I'd shoot higher (5 degrees maybe)for the after bath temp then what you want it to be. Beyond that I do have a heater you can borrow to heat the space.

I agree that a warm bath will help it get up to temperature quickly. I've done a couple of makeshift things in the past to warm up a fermenter: - Put the vessel right beside a heating vent and make a tent around it and the vent using a blanket. Works well if you need just a few more degrees, depending on what your heat is set at, of course.
- Use a regular heating pad (3 heat settings) and wrap a towel or something to keep it in place against the vessel. On low, it added 2-3C for me and I've never needed to try a higher setting. If you're concerned about uneven heating, you may not want to try this.
I've also read about using a water bath with an aquarium heater, which should allow much better temperature settings and control, as a less expensive option to a fermentation chamber.

Thanks. I've moved it to a warmer part of the house near a vent, and hopefully that'll help. If not, I guess I'll try something further tomorrow!
