Hello! I'm in the process of looking for the best way to source some yeast/bugs that the local shop (Jakes) doesn't have. In particular looking for specific strains of lacto, brett and possibly some of the more one off interesting blends. I don't know any of the shops in London and was working my way though the online options where obviously shipping becomes the issue (speed and cost). Was wondering if anybody had any insight or suggestions. As well maybe this thread could serve for a listing of shops we've all used and what was good or bad about them.
Thanks, Stephen

I've had decent results from ordering online from OBK, although their online inventory doesn't always match their actual inventory.
I ordered once through Torontobrewing.ca and I got it within 2 days. The yeast was manufactured only a week before so it was very healthy and viable!
Another good resource is other homebrewers. If they are sanitary then there's no harm in using washed yeast from recent batches. It would be difficult to get any specific strains this way but at least you'd know that the yeast is healthy and viable if the previous brewer experienced a good fermentation.
