This year Learn to Homebrew Day is on Sunday, November 4th! We're hoping to put together an event for this, however we need enough volunteers to pull it off! At this point we're just looking for interest. There will be a lot of work required to put an event like this together including people to brew, people to coordinate the event and people to just roam around, socialize and have a good time!
If you're interested in having a role to play in this event let us know by posting below or messaging any of the exec team directly.
Cheers

I can bring in a grainfather.
Random thought: do you think that Sons of Kent would be willing to mash a bulk amount for the brew day? We could each take a 5gal of the same wort, take them home and do what we want to them ( dryHop, yeast, etc) and as a group return a month and a half later to compare our experiments.

We have talked to SofK about this and I’m working on a plan to do that in the future (there’s some accounting concerns as far as the government is concerned). Unlikely we could do it for that day but hopefully in the future.

Hi Stephen, Last meeting (September 10th) at the SofK, Colin mentioned they usually overpitched, therefore accumulating an extra amount of yeast that he mentioned was usually just thrown out (in the garbage!) I was curious if we could approach them as a group, possibly using their access yeast and propagating and maintaining it for the members who would be interested? I should be available for the 4th to help. Let me know! Tom

Is this event still a go for this weekend. If so what are the details?

No this event is not happening this year. I'm hoping we can start planning it earlier next year so we're better prepared.
