It's September and we've been on hiatus due to COVID-19 as you all know. With restrictions lifting there have been many thoughts on club meetings but for the first time a viable option has presented itself. This coming Tuesday, September 8th @ 7pm we will be doing our first meeting back on the brand new patio at the newly opened Red Barn Brewing!
But how...
The patio has 10 very large picnic tables and 2 smaller tables. This will allow us to socially distance on 2 ends of the table while seated without masks drinking. While up an about we encourage all to don a mask were distancing will not be possible and also when entering the building for washroom usage and any tours that may happen.
But what...
We will be doing a much more structured but yet free form meeting this time out. It will consist of some loud discussion about what we've all been doing during the pandemic and what brewing we've been doing, a chance to taste some beers from other members, a run down from Denny (for those of you who don't know, Denny and Dan, owners of Red Barn started in our club) on Red Barns inception, journey and progress to this point. Denny will be giving us a tour of some of the facility and will also be opening the taps for some socially distanced beers near the end so please bring your wallets to support our hosts!
Who can come?
As you all know, we put off membership dues and elections when COVID hit. for the time being we will stick with that premise until we have a solid vision of whats ahead. As a result, we invite all recent and past members to come out as well as any new or perspective members. we will have a new waiver to sign for all of you that will likely include the obvious nature of meetings in COVID times. Other than signing the waiver, there will be no dues collected.
Safety?
As mentioned we will follow all health guidelines and request that all members socially distance and wear masks where appropriate. For samples we will have one person pour the beer from sanitized bottles (we'll spray down the outside) of the homebrew you brought and be masked while pouring (not touching your glass). in conferring with the health unit there are no instances to date of any infections via food or beverage and transmission during careful restaurant service seems to be extremely rare. Finally 90% of the meeting will be outdoors which decreases exposure potential drastically. Please follow as the ability to hold meetings is reliant on us staying safe!
What do I need to do/bring?
