Not one of my favourite styles of beer but my nephew drinks the commercial versions of this beers regularly, so when I asked if he would like to brew a beer with me for a club completion, this was his request. There was lots of info online to help design our recipe including this site. Below is the 5 gal recipe we used. He has brewed this 3 times so far and apparently likes the results . Belgian Whitbier OG - 1.055 FG - 1.014 ABV - 5.4% IBU - 9 SRM - 5 Finished Batch - 5.5 gal 6 lb Pale malt 2-Row 5 lb White wheat malt 1 lb Flaked oats 1 oz Hallertau Hops (2.5% A.A.) boil 60 min 0.5 oz Coriander seed boil 10 min 1.0 oz Dried sweet orange peel boil 5 mins 0.5 oz Fresh orange peel boil 5 mins Whirlflock boil 5 mins Safale US-05 Mash grains at 154 for 60 mins Bag all Hops and flavour additions
