Pale gold in colour, nice carbonation. Aroma is mildly citrus but the flavour is nice and tart (I get orange and lemon notes ) with the typical wheat beer spicy yeast bite. ( I call it a bite because I'm not a fan of European wheats or anything Belgian ). This beer is well made and very typical of the commercial ones that i have tried. Nice job.

I must admit, I was a bit apprehensive with "wheat" in the name because I haven't really enjoyed any commercial wheat beer that I've tried. BUT, I am really enjoying this one! I'm getting more spice than citrus in the aroma, and also in the flavour. There's a nice roundness to it and a bit of a bite as Peter mentioned. Is the spiciness from the yeast you used? I know it has coriander in it, but I don't feel that's what I'm detecting (that could just be me, though!). Nicely done, a good beer to sip at and savour.

As soon as I smelled it, I thought "Belgian". Definitely the yeast produces that, plus some orange. First sip and again..."Belgian". Just enough orange so that it doesn't become something lame like ShockTop or Blue Moon but still noticeable. I don't know if it is the 6.8% apv but I get a strong alcohol after bite. Did you use a tincture? Anyway, unlike the previous uncultured masses' comments I like Belgian beers and it was a beer like this that was missing from the Flights and Flasks that would have added some diversity. Now if only my Belgian wit was coming along like this. I should be bottling Thursday but my gravity is still a little high and I don't seem to get ANY of the characteristics of the yeast like you have. Well done, Denny. I wish mine would end up half as good (actually at this time, I'd be happy if mine was a Blue Moon quality).

I get an inviting aroma of slight lemon/ citrus and banana esters with a flavour of dried fruits and caramel. Medium-low carbonation is giving this beer a fairly full mouthfeel yet with a dry, alcoholic finish. An flavourful, maltier take on the American Wheat style, yet with a bit of an alcoholic/astringent bite to it.
Honestly I'm not sure if this was supposed to be a stylistic representation of an American Wheat (style isn't listed). It's a little closer to the dunkel weisse style, but imperialized and with less bready malt flavour and more fruits/caramels.
Even though I'm not sure what style to call it (does it need to be put into a box??), it's still a flavourful and tasty brew. Thanks for sharing guys!

Very tasty beer but not sure what it would be classified as. Wheat ale is pretty general. Regardless.
Beautiful nose with orange/corriander/yeast esters. Nothing off.
Colour is golden almost copper. Body seems med-high, and carbonation seems low. Makes this feel not quite like the beer it should be. Also I detect a bit of sweetness in the finish, which I would hope for something drier.
Obviously I realize you guy had some issues and regardless, just drinking the beer it's enjoyable.
Thanks!

Thanks All! Dan and I were pretty surprised that this one turned out half decent being the troubles we had during the brew. Yeast was the Bavarian Weisse so that was the spicy notes that came through. Coriander didn't come through too much but we didn't want a strong taste of that spice. Majority of the bill was Marris Otter in which was new for us. Think we would try and carbonate a bit more next time as well. Cheers to the rest of the upcoming beers!

Sorry...forgot to post last night.
I opened this one thinking I had an idea style wise but was quickly forced to rethink. I'll start by saying I am a big fan of Belgian beers of all types and I felt like I was drinking a Belgian Dubbel. I got a hair of the orange and more than that of the coriander but the alcohol warmth, slight plum and residual sweetness is what stood out. Not sure if that was the goal but I love Belgian Dubbels so thanks for the surprise treat guys!

We are going to try and work on this one-time minus the stuck sparge. Glad u liked it
